CensusAtSchool is a project that gathers data about K-12 children using an online survey and returns the data and curricular materials that use that data to the teacher of those children for use in the classroom. It is a voluntary project that makes the data handling and chance part of the curriculum fun and engaging while educating on the importance of evidence based decisions across the curriculum. This workshop shows how to use the activities of the C@S project to implement California's Curriculum Content Statndards in Statistics, Data Analysis and Probability in practice and across the curriculum. The workshop will be of interest to teachers, university professors teaching the first course in Statistics, official statisticians and parents and education advocates. Participants in the Workshop will receive a booklet with K-12 curriculum resources selected from the many free activities in the participants' projects, all adapted to the culture and scenario of the Californian school population. The workshop leaders will show how these activities have been used effectively in classrooms. Poster CompetitionIf you have a poster or project that uses Census data, or data about your students, you may submit it as anentry to the Poster Competition on Monday 28th of July in the evening.
